BOOK SWIMMING POOL CLOSING SERVICE
Our closing services will protect your pool from damage due to freezing water and keep it as clean as possible for the next season. Closing your swimming pool properly can save you a lot of work when it comes time to open the swimming pool for the summer as well as potential damage that could occur if closed incorrectly.
Full Closing Service includes:
Pools 18x36 or larger may have additional charges - pricing does not apply to commercial pools).

- Lower water level
- Test water and adjust parameters as necessary (chemicals to balance are extra)
- Add Winterizing kit(s) (extra)
- Drain filter, pump, chlorinator/brominator, heater
- Fill pump housing with antifreeze
- Remove all drain plugs, baskets, return jets, pressure gauge, sight glass, ladder(s), handrail(s) and diving board when possible (small parts get stored in basket - advise bringing in the pressure gauge for the winter)
- Disconnect plumbing where necessary
- Blow skimmer line(s), return lines and main drain line(s).
- Plug return outlets (plugs are extra)
- Pour antifreeze in skimmer line then plug with gizzmo and add antifreeze to interior of skimmer (gizzmo and antifreeze are extra) - where the main drain is connected to the skimmer instead of the pump, then foam rope is put in the main drain line then plugged off. (foam rope extra)
- Cover pool with client's winter cover and fill water bags and/or secure cover as per type of cover.
- Wash/clean and preserve solar blanket (cleaner/preservative extra)
Partial Closing Service includes:
- Drain pump, filter, chlorinator/brominator, heater
- Remove all drain plugs, baskets, return jets, pressure gauge, sight glass (all parts get stored in basket - advise bringing in the pressure gauge for the winter)
- Blow skimmer line(s), return lines and main drain line(s).
- Plug return outlets (plugs are extra)
- Pour antifreeze in skimmer line then plug with gizzmo and add antifreeze to interior of skimmer (gizzmo and antifreeze are extra) - where the main drain is connected to the skimmer instead of the pump, then foam rope is put in the main drain line then plugged off (foam rope extra)
Client is to bring in a water sample a few days prior to closing and balance the pool as recommended. If you prefer for us to balance the pool, please specify when booking and we will test the water on site then balance and winterize (chemical extra)
Client is responsible for lowering the water level and for putting the cover on the pool. Huronia Pools can put the cover on as per request and charges may apply - water bags must be pre-filled and must be arranged at time of booking.
NOTE: Chemicals, Antifreeze, Closing Kits, Plugs, Gizzmos, Teflon, Water bags...are extra.
